Jamie the Broadcaster

I'm a radio broadcaster of 5 years, uni graduate and writer with All Age Media
.

1) Dub Be Good To Me by Beats International
An early 90s cover that just works. I love it because it's bouncy, light and has a great sequence structure.

2) Can't Give You More (1991) by Status Quo
It's one of my favourite songs because of it's sheer energy, thoughtful lyrics and endless boogie. It's the sound I love Quo for, but the sound others do not always appreciate.

3) The Darkling Plains by Spiro
One of my first forays into hypnotic Folk. I love the way it's structured, and all the pieces make up the track perfectly.

4) A Different Beat by Boyzone
I'm a huge Boyzone fan but that wasn't so in the 90s. I rediscovered them in a new light and they just clicked. This track was one of the standouts. Beautiful interpretation of world music mixed with Pop vibes.

5) Music for a Found Harmonium by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Another great track of sequences. I love the way it builds up, and the eases into the tune.

6) Country Roads by John Denver
One of many great country tunes out there. John Denver is one of my favourites, brilliant storytelling.

7) King of my Castle by Wamdue Project
Reminds me of school discos, and is one of those tracks I play regularly on my show as a safety song. It just works!

8)In Recognition by The Proclaimers
A track I discovered on an album I got for my 18th birthday, it seemed to be political, but really struck a chord with me.

9) BSTN by 50 Sniffs
Having spent many years in Boston, this track really describes Boston. Excellent reminder of why the town is great.

10) Better Together by Jack Johnson
A different part of my musical like, but I love it. Relaxed, chilled and just brilliant words.

You can catch Jamie on Endeavour Radio every Tuesday at 9pm with The Spice Rack
