Day job in IT, try to play guitar in a cheesy party rock band and try to play cricket on a Saturday. Love a guitar solo in a song. Have a wide range of musical tastes as you will see ;-)

1) Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
The song that made me take up the guitar, a fantastic mix of melody and rock with a great mini solo at the end! Still love it!

2) Dakota - Stereophonics
I love this song, we play it in the band and the reaction from the crowd from all age groups singing at the top of their voices, eyes shut, "you made me feeeeeel like the one"!

3) Hotel California - Eagles
From the original to the acoustic version, its a rock classic with a solo that comes from the gods.

4) Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
Just a great song, never get tired of listening to it and great guitar licks/solos all the way through!

5) Still of the Night - Whitesnake
What a classic, love this song with its moody melodic intervals and a classic Whitesnake music video too!

6) F.E.A.R - Ian Brown
This song is genius for many reasons and has many memories from my uni days.

7) Woman - Def Leppard
The riff on this song is epic and has kept me awake on many a long journey!

8) Wonderwall - Oasis
I could relate most memories from high school to an oasis song, they were the band of my high school years. This song takes me back to singing it on karaoke in Ibiza after my A'Levels and getting told off for apparently being too drunk! How rude! And of course it was one of the 1st songs I learnt to play on the guitar!

9) Giving Up - Darkness
A few years ago I walked Hadrians Wall with a friend who asked me what song I would have at my funeral (Was he planning to kill me after spending all day everyday with me?? I wasn't sure ha ha!) I was struggling until this song came on my mp3 player! Ideal really!

10) Moving - Supergrass
A few years back I cycled lands end to John O'groats. On one day we were going from Dumbarton-Fort William (91miles) and by lunchtime I had managed to get lost and go 21 miles in the wrong direction (Long story). By the time I'd caught up with the other cyclist it was 3pm and we still had 50miles to go (sense of humour failure was had). I stopped for a drink looking up at the start of Glencoe 14miles up hill before the last 16/17miles down hill. This song gave me to motivation to just keep on moving and get up the long hill! Cheesy lol!
