Beth the Yoga teacher/Photographer

I live in Ware, Hertfordshire with my cat Duncan. Life loving, peace loving, animal loving hippy. I was a wise child and still am... I have no intention of ever growing up. I spend most of my time teaching yoga to the masses both locally and other places on our little planet. I also take photo's both for work and pleasure. Love to surf when I get the opportunity, though there aren't many waves round this way so it's not very often unfortunately. Love to travel every chance I get. Love being creative. Passionate about music in every way and I have to say completing this was nigh on impossible. At least 5 more tunes of my choice should be on this list, for every one I rejected I would think of 2 more! But after 3 months of dithering here is my final offering...

1) Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix
This was the song that turned me on to Jimi. It was used on an advert when I was about 12. It’s probably not my favourite, that would be Castles of Sand or Red House but it’s the most special to me. Gotta love Jimi...

2) My Sweet Lord - George Harrison
My mum loves this song, I remember playing it on 7 inch. But it’s only been in later years, that I've really started to love it. I've even developed a posthumous crush on George in recent times... Love George, love the Hare’s. Hare Krishna! Hare Om!

3) Whatever – Oasis
My favourite Oasis song, as soon as those strings come in I melt! The best memory this evokes is from when it was playing as I drove home after being offered the chance to go and work on cruise ships. It represents a defining moment in my life.

4) Oh, What A World - Rufus Wainwright
I clearly remember the first time I saw Rufus Wainwright on the Johnathan Ross show, I was mesmerized... and that was before he sang! Then when I heard this song I was completely captivated. His voice just seems to hit the very centre of my heart. Of all the artists I have been to see I think I have seen him the most.

5) Everlong (acoustic version) – Foo Fighters
Has to be the acoustic version but I will never tire of listening to this song. Those words! That voice! That face... "breathe out so I can breathe you in" beautiful.

6) Ghetto Heaven – Family Stand
This is one of my favourite tunes purely due the feeling it stirs up in me of being really happy when it was out. I was about 13 or 14, it was summer, the sun was shining and everything good in my world at that time

7) Message to you Rudy - The Specials
Takes me right back to childhood, my oldest sister was a mod so the sound of Specials was familiar in our house . Particular memory of the time was when she had a birthday party and our house was filled with, what seemed like, hundreds of people! Scooters lined our whole road, people everywhere, pogo dancing in one room, queuing up the stairs for the toilet, passed out on the lawn. I wandered round an awe-struck 4 year old!

8) He’s so fine – The Chiffons
One of my mums favourites, brings back memories of us all sitting in the kitchen singing together, Saturday evening, mum’s cooking dinner, my sisters have just got in from shipping trips. We’re going through a whole repertoire of Phil Spector and Motown songs, anything we could think of and this one would often feature. Happy times :)

9) That’s life – Frank Sinatra
Love a bit of Frank, always good for a singalong! Love these lyrics, they truly do sum up life in a song.

10) If I can dream - Elvis Presley
Ah Elvis, the king. My dad loved Elvis. When I hear Elvis sing, in my head thst's my dads voice. And this is my favourite Elvis song...
